I have been playing Mega Man 2 since I was eight. In the past I have completed multiple speed runs of the game, but this is the first that I've recorded. The lowest, unofficial time i've achieved is around 30:20. To be honest, this run was only supposed to be a test run, in which I was trying out a different boss order. The typical idea is to beat Air Man first, so you get the 'Item-2' as early as possible. They theory here is: Flying is faster than walking. On this run, as an alternate strategy, I tried instead to obtain the items as early as possible, in this order:'Item 3', 'Item 1', 'Item 2'. This means using the 'Item 1' to speed through parts of Air mans level. These maneuvers are extremely difficult, probably the hardest in the entire run, and the cause of much frustration.

I should note I won't be abusing any of the games major glitches, so you won't see me using the pause trick in Bubble Mans stage, or using the Items to 'zip' through walls of levels. I also will not abuse the screen breaker, the most famous case of this being the birds of Air Man's level.

Though I'm satasfied with the time, there are many flaws and errors. The worst of which I will point out: After completing Wiley's 4th stage, Re-fighting the bosses I did very sloppy, and probably lost about ten seconds there alone. The main reason was my terrible performance against quick man, which made me extremely nervous, and I get unintentionally hit on the next three or four bosses. Well, I guess nobodys perfect. And on top of that I'm a nervous wreck.

Enjoy.
